  Revised reveiw for an Installation of a Mixergy solar X hot water cylinder. After my project being delayed for months due to the scaffolders blocking access to my cellar, CL plumbing where very patient postponing the installation day without complaints. However since installation my electricity bills actually increased, due to the faulty network cable I had 5 months of missed solar PV to heat the water for free. After consulting Mixergy technicians, they immediately identified the cable was faulty. It then took a couple of months for CL plumbing to replace the cable after repeated requests. CL plumbing then kindly offered to refund the value lost solar PV energy, which we where greatful for.

  As an architect I have had the pleasure of working with many fantastic tradesman. In this instance however, I would strongly advise against using CL Plumbing. Our experience was marked by poor workmanship, lack of professionalism, and ultimately complete abandonment. Partway through our build, Ben left for Canada with no warning and no alternative contact. We experienced multiple leaks. One pipe was spraying water onto the underside of the floorboards overnight — only discovered by chance. I had to lift the floor and temporarily tape the pipe myself to prevent further damage. Several of the junior plumbers appeared inexperienced and disorganised, openly arguing on site and shouting things like “don’t do that” while working. As a paying customer, it was deeply unsettling to watch obvious mistakes being made inside our home. All the copper was taken from the house without my permission. Thermostats removed from radiators, which I had fitted new 12 months previous and which were to be re-used, so now we have a mis-match. Little things, but it shouldn't be happening. The final issue was another leaking pipe to a wash basin. After several failed attempts to “dry it out,” a section of plasterboard was finally cut away, revealing the cause: two copper pipes had not been soldered together properly. The absolute basics. By that point the plasterboard, skirting, and stud wall were mouldy and partially ruined. Ben’s only response was to forward the phone number of a plasterer, who didn't reply. A customer should not be left to organise and fund remedial works for damage directly caused by a contractor’s mistakes. This was reported in July. It is now January, and there has been no response. Once payment was taken, communication stopped entirely. Unreliable and unaccountable.

  Friendly and regular communication to arrange date which worked well for us, swift and efficient service, advice given on what to do going forward as we have quite an old boiler, and then happy to discuss and provide reassurance for any worries we had afterwards. Thanks Ben!

  Ben and his team fitted a Vaillant boiler, I’m really impressed with the level of professionalism displayed by Ben! His communication is impeccable from the enquiry stage to the completion of the works. Very clean my wife didn’t have to clean after they finished the job!

  Brilliant service from start to finish. Fitted us with a new Vaillant boiler in a different location to our old boiler, within a week of quoting. They did a very clean job and was exactly what we had hoped for. We can’t recommend and thank them enough for their service
