  Jake from Aaron Nobbs, Brandeston, came for three days to update all the electrical work for our house having done a survey of what was needed last year.   I asked these guys to come out and install an outside powerpoint and ended up with an £850 bill. Although they justified the expense by saying they had to install grounding works that were required for them to work on the property, they didn't clear it with me first or tell me how much it would cost. When I queried the cost and expressed my consternation, I just got agressive man-splaining about why it was my problem, not theirs. The work was done on a grade-II listed building, was not sympathatic to the house (wires tacked everywhere), and will have to be re-done in order to be more in keeping with the property. I feel almost sorry for the apprentice that was sent, as he was a good kid, but has obviously been trained to be a bit of a computer-says-no robot, who doesn't understand that 800-year old period properties cannot be treated this way.
