5Very happy with my new bathroom. Cleaned up as they went along. Kept me informed every step of the way. The helpful and polite lad that did the bulk of the work is a credit to this company. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.

1Edited: Evidence of the quote added We went through Countrywide to have DSS resolve the heating problem for our tenant. Not including the number of call outs they charge. They quoted for a work to fix the boiler without advising for a boiler replacement. They charged £936.00 to carry out work for the boiler including using spirit of salt as stated on their quotation. Immediately after carrying out the work the radiator started leaking and still no heating for the tenants. They then quoted for a power flush for £864.00 and follow up with a 1 year Glow-Worm boiler for £3,517.33. The last quote includes another power flush. Double charging? We raised this issue regarding their warranty with Vaillant (parent company of Glow Worm) and they said this is against their practice for an approved installer. This is not the standard warranty offered for a new boiler. We have decided to not to take up the additional quotes and the boiler failed again in a couple of weeks. This is an incompetent, unethical and predatory company. Contemplating taking relevant actions with related authority. Best avoid.

Hi Ching, Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you’re unhappy with your experience, and we take concerns like this very seriously. To clarify, the initial works carried out were based on the condition of the existing boiler at the time and were agreed in advance as a repair attempt rather than a full replacement. Unfortunately, with older systems, underlying issues can sometimes only become apparent once work has begun or shortly after, which can lead to further recommendations such as a power flush or replacement. The radiator leak you mentioned would not have been caused by the boiler works itself but is often a sign of wider system deterioration, which is why additional remedial work was advised. All quotations provided were separate recommendations, not duplicate charges, and we aim to be fully transparent in outlining available options. In terms of warranty, manufacturer policies can vary and we always follow the guidance provided by approved manufacturers. Our quote to you advised of a 10 year manufacturer warranty not 1 year. This length is what we can offer being Vaillant/Glow worm approved installers. It’s also unfortunate that we weren’t given the opportunity to explain this directly, as no concerns were raised with us via the estate agent prior to this review. We are always happy to discuss any issues and work toward a resolution when contacted. We strongly dispute the suggestion that we operate unethically or unfairly. We have always aimed to act in our customers best interest and provide appropriate solutions. 5We used DSS based on a recommendation from Cambridgeshire Bathrooms when doing our upstairs bathroom renovation earlier this year. We were really impressed by their service from start to finish, staff were polite and professional and overall pleasure to work with. Any hiccups we faced DSS resolved these very professionally and made us glad we chose an all in one company to install our renovation. We would recommend and use again.

5I highly recommend DSS Plumbing and Heating. They recently removed an old bath—managing to keep it intact despite the difficulty—and transformed the space into a stylish wet-room-style shower. They also repaired the toilets, which now flush perfectly. Throughout the entire job, they were respectful and considerate of the very elderly homeowner. Nothing was too much trouble for them, right down to cleaning the carpets thoroughly when the work was finished. The quality of their workmanship was excellent, and everything was completed at a reasonable price. We couldn’t be happier with the service provided and wouldn’t hesitate to use DSS Plumbing and Heating again.

5Extremely happy with the service at DSS all the way from initial design of our heat pump system to support after install, very professional throughout. Post install support has also been excellent with Tom in particular going above and beyond to help me even out of regular hours

5Called Monday as boiler broke Saturday, quote given & so kindly offered to fit new boiler the next day because I was undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. From the young man who came to assess to a different fitter the next day, so polite, tidy, explained what he was doing at all stages. Great service, price & overall would highly recommend!
