5Very happy with the installation and overall experience with this company, with many companies to choose from my partner and I most definitely made the right decision. Thank you all for the hard work !

1This company cold called my mother (who has vascular dementia and Alzheimer's) telling her that her solar panels needed changing and arranging an appointment to see her. Luckily, we were able to intercept and cancel this appointment. Beware!

5A Five-Star Experience – Professional, Respectful, Value for Money and Genuinely Caring I can’t speak highly enough of Alternative Eco Solutions. From the first phone call to the final clean-up, they were punctual, professional, and incredibly respectful. As someone with a disability who lives alone, I often find having tradespeople in my home quite stressful—but this team completely changed that for me. They were kind, accommodating, and clearly cared not just about the work but about me personally. They communicated well, worked efficiently, and showed a level of courtesy and empathy that’s rare today. I’ve had less-than-great experiences in the past with other companies, but this was the polar opposite. I felt safe, heard, and well looked after throughout. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Alternative Eco Solutions to anyone—especially those who value respectful, high-quality service. They’re a credit to their trade. To the "family" leaving 1* reviews Why when you had work done 2 years (2023) ago are you still holding a grudge and posting negative feedback (2025) - Are you a competitor trying to destroy a decent companies reputation ?? You are in a minority, accept it and move on !!

1My family have had the worst experience of our lives with Alternative Eco Solutions. It has been a living nightmare for over a year. In March 2023 AES cold-called my frail & vulnerable 86 & 89 year old parents (I later found out they buy customer lists from liquidated companies) & persuaded them to purchase £7000 of solar equipment upgrades that they did not want or need. My dad has alzheimers, my mum has dementia, parkinsons, blood cancer, breast cancer, severe arthritis, heart failure – their home is full of mobility equipment & boxes of incontinence pads which should have been a red flag to any salesman, but he obviously just rubbed his hands together & dived straight in. I have had Lasting Power Of Attorney for both my parents for 5 years but the salesman fraudulently filled in a form falsely stating neither have memory issues/confusion (they both do), no psychiatric issues (my mum has), no hospital admittance (they both have), no hearing/eyesight problems (they both do), they don't have a Power Of Attorney (me), no fits or blackouts (my mum has epilepsy), no conditions that affect memory or judgement (they both do), & confirmed they are both under 79! He then got my dad to sign it! He also got my dad to sign a form waiving their right to a 14 day cooling off period! The salesman also ran up a landline phone bill of over £8 (despite my mum declining him access to their landline) he also used their laptop & logged into my mums emails & their utility provider account, I dread to think what else he accessed. AES came to install the equipment THE VERY NEXT DAY! Obviously not over-run with work, like every legitimate solar energy company is! I only found out about it when we received a phone call from my parents utility provider checking they had requested to switch providers, which they hadn't, but the AES salesman apparently had. Turned out one of the mobile numbers the salesman had rung from their landline was a partner from Utility Warehouse who told me “Oh yes I've done several deals with M*** B*****!” Oh yes I bet you have!!! A nice kickback earned by all no doubt. Once I discovered a scam had taken place I was bombarded with phone calls & a barrage of verbal abuse, rudeness, lies & threats from both directors & salesman of AES saying they would get their solicitors involved, that I would be blacklisted, trying to pressurise me to the point where I broke down in tears. I immediately sought legal advice, contacted Trading Standards, Citizens Advice Bureaux, phone calls & visit from the police, I contacted all the accrediting bodies that govern solar energy companies but it took over 3 nightmarish months of sheer hell, extreme anguish, intolerable anxiety & major upset to get the unwanted equipment removed & for my parents to get their money back plus the cost of the phone calls made from their landline. They were left with a solar panel system that didn't work as the AES engineer said he was unable to re-install their previous equipment due to some missing screws which he said my dad had taken! Meanwhile I still had to deal with rude abusive telephone calls from Tom Lydamore one of the directors trying to convince me my parents previous equipment never worked in the first place & calling ME a liar! Four months later we were shocked to discover Utility Warehouse have been taking monthly direct debits from my parents bank account despite them cancelling the fraudulent switch instigated by AES. U.W. tell me the AES Salesman signed them up to a cash-back card which has a monthly charge! My parents knew nothing about this & certainly wouldn't have agreed. They are both housebound & have absolutely no use, need or desire for a cash-back card! This whole experience has had an extremely detrimental impact on my mums psychiatric health, both my parents physical health & my own mental health. We have now had to pay over £3500 for a reputable local solar energy company to put right what AES did.

1This company used aggressive sales tactics on my elderly relative, convincing her that her solar panels urgently needed cleaning and bird netting, at a massively inflated cost for less than an hour of work. She paid a deposit, when the high cost was questioned, Tom, pressured my grandmother into paying the full amount over the phone via debit card. This is a clear case of predatory behavior and high-pressure sales.

1Cold callers from this company came to my grandmothers house and told her that she needed her 14 solar panels cleaned urgently and bird netting fitted round the base of them. They were charged £2200 for this, the work took less than 1 hour. She had paid a deposit on the day, later on my father called to speak to the managing director asking how they can justify this cost. After this phone call the managing director, Tom, immediately called my grandmother and got her to pay the full amount over the phone. Completely predatory behaviour.

1Nightmare experience with this company a year ago. Sadly they are still getting the same kind of reviews. Please check with trading standards, BBB or steer clear in the first place. My Dad had a cold call from this company and agreed to a free solar panel health check. Salesman Tom Clusker came out. He wasn't even the engineer he said, but he could see something was "dangerous" in the roof system and for his peace of mind he wanted to turn the system off and get this team out the next day. They could install a new inverter for £5400. Dad signed as he was worried about my bed bound mother and the possibility of a fire trapping her in (God forbid said Tom, but it could happen). The next day (as it was an emergency - yeah right) the "electrician" came out with 2 others who stood around laughing loudly and chatting at 8am waking my mother. Query as to qualified electrician as our local one found faults with his work and proved he'd left it unsafe. Even I know that bare wires sticking out of a cable are not good and that was only one thing! This bloke was also fired by AES after this incident. He told Dad the original cables were wrong and got him to sign for a correct size (Cable was later said to be perfectly fine which we suspected as the system had been working for 10 years. He also talked him into a warranty for 4 grand. I then entered the property to find Dad in a state of distress at having signed away so much money. I said they didn't want the warranty and I called the salesman who had visited and tried to be so charming, Tom Clusker. I told him what was said and he replied that he "would call his boss as that wasn't right and my dad was a 'good guy'". Thomas Lydamore then called me who started off by being cheery and wanting to know my name. Explaining about the cable and how dangerous it was. Explaining why the warranty was so great and saying that he couldn't understand why anyone wouldn't want it. He finally offered a gesture of goodwill and would do a "reduced rate of $7200 for everything". I was adamant we didn't want the warranty and then his manner changed. He wasn't happy, was belittling and so intimidating. He then called my dad and was going on at him. Tom Lydamore called 7 times that afternoon/ evening. He swore later that he didn't but we had it all logged. By then I was totally fed up and told him in the evening to forget everything, and not to come back to do the cable. Then followed a battle to get the money back and have them take the equipment away. I then had the local electrician come in who put right the shoddy work by AES and fitted a new inverter for under £400.
