1Mittens, completely refurbished our bathroom. After six months some of the tiles came loose and from the wall/sub-straight surface. Contacted Mittens and after many rounds of emails and phone calls Mittens were not remotely interested. I then engaged the services of The Tile Association who provided an expert witness statement ( surveyors report ). The report concluded that Mittems tiler Tony, had used the Dot and Dab method of tile adhesive, whereby Tony should have used the method - Full Butter Spread of adhesive on both rear of the tile and the sub-straight surface. I used the report to take Mittems to small claims court, whereby the judgement was ruled in my favor, Mittens were then ordered to pay me compensation plus costs.

5Mittens were professional from start to finish,installing a new bathroom,Darren and Jacob were a pleasure to have indoors very clean and tidy .I would and have recommended them

5Where others had messed me around and made both thermostats in both showers that were built in the wall sound like a nightmare job which would have included smashing tiles to access them, I also had two leaking taps that needed replacing. Michael from Mittens strolled through the job, identifying both shower thermostats and replacing them. The job was carried out without the drama that I had been told it wood be. He was on time, obliging and competent. It's nice to find a company that looks after its clients. I will always use Mittens from now on.

1Thank you for your update online!!!! Still havent had a call back ... This is not what happened. I am not inspecting a new bathroom in sept? All i asked while the guy was here... Which took them a MONTH to even come and do the quote as requested by the council. I asked for the details of were the quote has been sent - i have not had a boiler since before xmas. Thats what i have been calling for. An i just wanted a rough estimate to put an ensuite in my large bedroom as i need it for health reasons. I left messages everyday last week.. i wasn't tokd any of the review claim... Thats why i have been calling!!!!!!!! .... 😲 Orginal review... Cant get reply ... Been three weeks now.. And numerous messages, an even a conversation a week ago... Could some one reply. Thank you That's all i exspect

Your quotation has been sent to the council as already stated so this is out of our hands. Your issue with your boiler not working, has absolutely nothing to do with Mittens Plumbing and Heating. This again is something that need to be chased with the council. We were only asked to quote via the council. They are our customers, we are waiting for them to agree the install. It’s down to the directors discretion if they would like to quote for further works and it looks as though, on this occasion they have declined the offer. Original reply: We went to this project to quote for a boiler through the Brighton and hove disabled facilities team. This quote has been sent off to the council awaiting approval. We are extremely busy at the moment and with covid issues we are short staffed in the office therefore there is inevitably delays in responding to customers. You have requested a quote for a bathroom over and above the original purpose of our visit, we explained on the phone that our earliest availability to install bathrooms at the moment is September and we would try and find a slot to come and quote however at the moment we haven’t been able to.

1I have used this company to service my boiler for the past four years. I have always found them to be on time and had no problems so I didn't think twice in asking them to fit a wireless thermostat. Michael had come to give me a quote for something else and suggested I get one and that they could fit a Honeywell wireless thermostat. When I booked the job in Stuart told me that the cost of the thermostat would be £80. Not a problem I thought as I have seen some Honeywell ones around that price. What they fitted was an EPH CP4 which can be purchased from a local plumbing merchant for £49.99 and what I was charged was £82 plus VAT for the thermostat and £50 plus VAT for installation. When I queried this with Stuart I was told that it is because they apply a 'mark up'. They were not transparent with their prices which has left me feeling VERY ripped off. I shall no longer be using this company and I would recommend going elsewhere unless you too want to get fleeced!
