  We had an insulated flat roof installed at our property under a government grant scheme by GRS Insulation. Unfortunately our experience has been very disappointing. After the work was completed we experienced multiple problems including water coming through a bathroom light fitting, which actually filled with water and caused damage to the ceiling. We also had water entering the boiler cupboard affecting the electrics, which resulted in a power cut and the boiler shutting down leaving the house without heating. Although engineers attended and carried out some repairs to the roof and restored the electrics and boiler, further problems have continued. Water is now running down the front of the house due to the threshold drainage being too close to the property and is coming in through the front door. There are also still outstanding remedial works inside the property including repainting the damaged bathroom ceiling and replacing the light fitting. The property is tenanted and there is a vulnerable child living in the home, so these issues have been extremely concerning. We are currently waiting for the company to provide a proper plan and timescale to fully resolve the problems caused by the installation.

  I had EWI installed off GRS. Gary was the easiest to deal with, and I wish I had Gary from the start. Will was basically a nightmare! If it wasn’t calling someone from India to take the cables off the wall, or turning up to my house with 2 Luton vans full of gear, or just being ridiculous through and through, he was incredibly difficult to deal with, I ended up calling northern power for 3 weeks sorting out what Will should have done. If you get Gary dealing with the work, he’s easy and fair, the relationship ended badly through damage caused, which Gary was fair. It would have been a 0 star rating if not for Gary. It is worth getting EWI, it looks better and has made a slight difference. I’m just disappointed that I had to deal with Will for months, and the quotes at first were silly.

  Installed cavity wall insulation and piv system and air vents for free . What else can you ask for ?

  BE AWARE! The first issue I had with GRS was the pricing, their first quote was just insulting, then they miraculously dropped it by a small fortune. That tactic worked in the 1990’s it doesn’t work now. The second issue was the poor level of customer service. There wasn’t any! Sloppy, unresponsive, uninterested. I never got any work done, and I’m glad now, they’re better companies who are reasonably priced and more customer focused. You see companies getting in trouble with the courts for miss selling, or doing sloppy work, GRS seem to me to be on track to be one of them companies, if some old person just accepted their first quote, then GRS would need prosecuting. Shameful.
