    Have a tenant in a granny annex attached to my home. Last week they started blowing the mains fuse every time they turned on a bedroom light. They had a rat in the ceiling space last month that we put poison down for, figure rat chewed through insulation of wires to overhead light. No access except through light. Called PNG Electrical asking if someone could come soon. Told following day (Thursday) at 14:15. At 14:15 Thursday, we were telephoned by PNG to say electrician held up in traffic, should be there by 15:15, at 16:20 he arrived. He spent 10-15 minutes in the annex and reported to me “short in the wires to overhead light in bedroom, probably chewed through by rat. Can’t access from crawl space, will need to go through ceiling in room (same story I told PNG when I booked an electrician to fix it). I asked can you fix it then? He replied, not here to fix it, only to assess the situation. Someone will telephone you tomorrow to book the repair. Friday came and went without a call from PNG. I called Saturday and they were closed. I waited till mid-morning Monday, still no call, so telephoned them. They said sorry about not calling you Friday, oversight. Or this morning either, I said. Very unprofessional. I then told her I’ve arranged for someone else to do the job, I won’t be wanting anything more to do with them. Then asked if I was still going to be charged for the service (what there was of it). She said she would call me back. I received a call back a short while latter. She said the electrician said they’d have to take down the light, fix the short and suggests replacing our perfectly good lamp with a new LED lamp (from them of course). I said no thanks, I didn’t want them for anything else. I just received an invoice for £100.20 from PNG for services rendered!

When you contacted us, we arranged for two engineers to attend within 24 hours. While there was a delay due to traffic—which we kept you informed about—we did our best to attend as promptly as possible. While a temporary repair to rodent-damaged cables may have been possible, this could not be confirmed without a site visit—hence the need for an assessment. During the visit, our electrician was unable to carry out a repair, as accessing the damaged cables would have required a more invasive and time-consuming process. As discussed prior to the appointment, a quotation would have followed to carry out the necessary remedial works. We respect your decision not to proceed. We also acknowledge the delay in our follow-up communication and are genuinely sorry for the inconvenience. This is not reflective of the standard we aim to provide. We’ve reviewed the issue internally and taken steps to ensure appropriate cover is in place during staff annual leave. The invoice reflects the diagnostic visit and assessment carried out. Your prompt payment was very much appreciated. We value your feedback—it helps us improve—and we wish you all the best moving forward. Kind regards, PNG Electrical Team

    Started with a thorough survey of the property and a discussion about the best way to install the panels. After we accepted the quote, the installation was started in about 5 weeks and completed in 3 days very well. We were given a "driving lesson" and also told that PNG were happy to help if there were things that we could not sort out (just as well because I managed to turn off the complete system while trying to set import times!). Communication was superb throughout and continues to be so. We are happy with our decision to use PNG and also with the installation

    We asked this company to replace an extractor fan. Their customer service and standard of work was exceptionable and we are very satisfied overall. Would recommend this company for all electrical work.

    PNG have done lots of work for me over the past few years, and I always recommended them to my family, friends, and colleagues. They are professional, very clean and tidy, and always do top quality work. If you want solar heating, or anything electrical, this is a great local family run business you can always trust to do a good job.
