Having moved house we needed a number of electrical jobs done at the new place. I remembered M.A. Broughton had wired my previous house and so contacted them. They were very professional from first contact to completion of final job. Lee Whitten was the specific electrician we dealt with. He was great and we are very happy with the work he did. I would definitely recommend using M.A. Broughton.

    Owner's reply

Good morning Sean, Thank you very much for your positive feedback, which I will pass onto Lee.

Many thanks to everyone at M. A. Broughton for a great job installing our EV charger. In particular, follow up support from Lee who quickly resolved a few niggling issues was superb. Highly recommended.

    Owner's reply

Thank you Richard for your positive comments, which I have relayed to the electricians. If you need anything else, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Awful company. Poor customer service and incompetent staff. The company left a link on my boiler which was not rectified for 61 days. This error left me out of pocket as it was costing over a pound a day. CLINT called and was nothing short of unprofessional stating they rectified the problem (which they must do by law) would not help with my financial loss.. he even hung up on me. They really do not care. They also broke a fibre wire and I had 3 large holes in my brand new house. AVOID THIS COMPANY. Use local trades that care not money hungry incompetent people. CLINT could do with some training in conflict resolution I feel or get a job down a mine. Disgraceful. Trading standards contacted and MD emailed. Only just seen this response from CLINT who is obviously going to lie to cover the companies back. The word incompetent is not a rude comment; it is merely an observation by a professional and professionals who are slap dash. A heating engineer has also stated your comment in regards for the financial loss from the loop is incorrect and my bills have reduced since this - which proves again your lack in knowledge. Timely manner don't make me laugh... also having to take time from my work is ok?? .. did you pay my loss of wages??? BT clarified as a trusted and customer focused company that it was in fact your company at fault. Luckily they helped splice the extra cable from the ceiling in the thunder and lightning... whilst you left.... to help rectify the problem.. caused by CLINTS poor management of his staff. CLINT you slanderise people and I hope you sleep well at night as a compulsive lier, unfortunately putting your bosses company at jepody.

Good morning Lisa, Please accept my apologies for the late reply but we don't normally respond to reviews, but I thought on this occasion I had to- I wanted to explain our side of your response and therefore I had to set the business account up with Google to reply. We did leave the link in the boiler, but this would have been controlled via a thermostat and therefore the system would not be constantly running. Once the customer care issue had been sent to us we responded within a day and solved the issue. The second issue wasn't our fault, the BT Fibre cable installed was damaged and needed to be replaced within a day we/with BT replaced the cable by cutting three holes for access behind your fridge freezer- the system was back working within that day and the holes patched/ painted the following day. Both issues were completed free of charge under the warranty of your new home- I explained why I didn't believe the issues warranted any compensation as we we attended within a day and rectified the issues, but on hearing my response you was very rude and therefore I advised our conversation was over and yes I hung up on you. We are a local company and employ directly local people, the company as been in business for over 30 years and we are very proud of of our reputation for carrying out good work with good people. Unfortunately on this occasion you thought we got it wrong- which I can only apologies for. Your home is still under warranty for 2 years and if you have any further issues please advise your building contractor and we will assist in anyway we can going forward. Kind regards Clint Cottee Contracts Director

I have just bought a new home with a Broughton fitted alarm. I need to isolate a zone in my house but it can only be done with a code that Broughton say they cannot let me have. They are charging me £60 for an engineer to come and do a five minute job that I should be allowed to do myself but they have set their system up so I have to use their engineer. How can they justify this £60 charge. If I bought an alarm from them as an individual instead of them fitting a large amount on a new development I would be given the option of how I want my alarm setting up. I feel that I am being charged for something that should be free.
