1Strongly advise that you don’t let this company in your house to do any work major mess up from start to finish equipment installed then taken out due to errors no heating for 2 days due to this in winter damage to my car then told I need to deal with it my self now my boilers packed in due to the heat pump and I’ve asked for help and I’ve been told by the director that it’s my responsibility I’ve tried 4 companies British Gas and other well known ones and they have all stated they cannot put me in a new boiler due to the heat pump I’ve tried to speak with the director twice to get there equipment removed and my original set up put back in to place so I can then get a new boiler fitted at my own cost and still nothing just a reply ( he will call you by the end of play on the day ) It’s absolutely disgusting that not only damage has been done to property but the after care is also disgraceful So take advice from my review Avoid

Thank you for taking the time to share your photos and feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear that you remain dissatisfied, as this is never the experience we aim to provide. However, it is important that we clarify a number of points for fairness and accuracy. Aura Retrofit attended your property under the government-funded Warm Homes: Local Grant scheme, where we fully funded and installed an Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) and Solar PV system in February 2026. Your existing boiler, as you have photographed, was already in place prior to our involvement and was not installed by Aura Retrofit. The ASHP installation was connected to the heating system via the existing flow and return pipework, meaning your wider heating system remained pressurised and otherwise untouched by our installation works. Following the concerns raised, we returned to your property as a gesture of goodwill to inspect the system and review the issues reported. Our findings concluded that the matters raised related to the performance and condition of your original boiler, rather than the ASHP installation completed by Aura Retrofit. We were also surprised to hear the claim that other providers would not assist due to the presence of a heat pump. Many respected national companies, including British Gas and Octopus Energy, actively install and work with low-carbon heating systems, and such systems are widely understood within the industry. In an effort to support you further, despite the boiler not being part of our original scope of works, we offered the contact details of an independent heating engineer who could attend, quote for, and install a replacement boiler if you wished. Regarding the allegation of damage to your vehicle, while no evidence was available to confirm fault of this, the scaffolding contractor still offered to carry out an independent investigation and progress an insurance claim should liability be established. This offer was declined. We are particularly disappointed by the suggestion that customers should avoid our company, especially as our records show that during the course of the project additional work was discussed directly with our engineers, including roofing works and further solar panel installations. This does not align with the picture now being presented. Aura Retrofit remains proud of the work we do in helping households access funded energy improvements, reduce bills, and benefit from modern renewable technologies. We always aim to resolve concerns professionally and fairly, and we remain willing to engage constructively should you wish to discuss the matter further. If this is the case, please email your contact details to [email protected] and a member of the team will be in touch as soon as possible. Warmest wishes The Aura Retrofit Team

5From start to finish, everyone at Aura was polite, friendly and genuinely helpful. Our co-ordinator was outstanding—guiding us through the technical details and even helping us navigate the confusion around grant funding with real clarity, care and tremendous patience. The installation team were equally impressive. Working around a complex renovation, they listened carefully, adapted to our plans, and completed the job with great attention to detail. The system has performed flawlessly from day one, with virtually no downtime during installation. Seeing our smart meter at zero usage—and knowing we’re doing our bit for the environment—is immensely satisfying. A superb result.

1Someone from aura retrofit cold called at our door advising that as part of a government scheme we could be given free solar panels. After almost an hour of discussion and filling out forms he left and we were called by their office team to schedule in a survey. This survey got rescheduled to another day and then no one turned up. A couple of weeks later I thought it would be worth following up on only to receive an email telling me that our house does not qualify due to being steel framed. I feel like the person who cold called us should have done their research before completely wasting our time as the whole street is steel framed and it is no secret. Complete waste of time

1This has been one of the worst home heating and energy solution companies I have experienced. Please be cautious when dealing with their engineers and ensure you are properly prepared.

1We had an ASHP, cylinder, solar and radiators installed by Aura Retrofit (formerly Aura Heating). We raised an installation concern about the ASHP condensate/relief discharge at the time of installation and again over a year later, due to a persistent drip, and were repeatedly told it wasn’t an issue. When it later became clear the installation needed correcting, a remedial visit was arranged. The engineer who attended only applied sealant around the area and advised that proper drainage changes would be needed, but he hadn’t been authorised or equipped to complete that work. After a long back-and-forth, Aura involved the company that had previously signed off the work, and a further review identified elements of the installation that required correction. Despite this, Aura repeatedly avoided confirming in writing what exact works they would carry out, how they would route the discharge safely, and what would happen if the ground conditions prevented a simple soakaway solution. It felt like pressure to “just let us do something” without explaining the method or outcome. Eventually a visit to complete the agreed remedial work was booked, and then cancelled on the day at very late notice, with the issue pushed to a third party. Overall, the customer service has been very poor: inconsistent answers, refusal to clearly set out the scope of work, and unreliable scheduling. Based on our experience, I would not recommend.
