5We had been living for 14 years with ground source heat pumps from Geothermal Int'l which exited first the residential market and provided no service and then seemed to disappear altogether. We had lived on a knife edge trying to get it serviced by an extremely unreliable individual who had worked for Geothermal at that time, but had moved on and effectively moolighted in order to very occasionally show up when he said he would to service the GSHP. No one seemed to understand the system or the controls, and how it linked to the oil boiler. The catastrophic failure of this heat pump in December 2024 led me to bring in Orange House and we effectively started again with a new CTC heat pump and a documented and indeed simplified system which links to our existing oil boiler. Engineer George Tiefenthaler's work was extremely neat and professional and he also provided us with an emergency fix just before Xmas so we had UF heating and DHW. There was quite a bit of scope creep along the way, which Alex Driver clearly explained, but the end result is extremely good, and I am sure will massively improve the saleability of our house (which we are planning to do in the not too distant future).

4Good engineers. Poor office back up. I used this company to mend the hot water system (which was producing brown water). Engineer was pleasant, knowledgeable and quickly diagnosed the problem, and after a long wait for the failing part, successfully fitted and solved it. A large but reasonable invoice, with no breakdown of costs, was sent and and I paid promptly. Seven months later a second invoice was sent for the initial diagnostic visit. The office back up lets down the excellent on-site workforce.

5This company came highly recommended by a local friend . Booking a service of an air source heat pump was efficient and friendly . The service engineer was helpful and knowledgeable. Follow up by the team after a recent glitch was very reassuring, with good attention to detail . Thank you .

5I just want to share that this company have truly restored my faith in people. My Mum was left with no heating or hot water, her original installers Warma UK refused to come out and told her she should pay to get it serviced. (She got it installed on a government grant scheme less than a year ago!) Orangehouse literally saved the day and went out of their way to visit her and rectify the fault at no cost. I am so grateful for companies like this, who can recognise when vulnerable people need help. I will be recommending them to everyone I know and she will be booking her service in with them in the future. Thank you so much.

5We live in a small semi-detached property built in the late 1950s. I'd been wanting to ditch gas central heating for a long time, but was nervous about getting an air source heat pump due to dire warnings from the various plumbers and heating engineers who'd been keeping our old system just about functioning for the past few years. Last winter's high gas prices, cold weather, and leaks from our downstairs radiators finally spurred me into action and I contacted Orangehouse Renewables to find out if an ASHP could work for us. Alex visited us in the spring and was able to reassure us that our property was suitable for an ASHP, and was able to design a suitable system for us with very little need for us to try to understand the technicalities. The installation was carried out in June, and even though it involved the removal of our existing back boiler and header tank, and replacing the hot water cylinder and all our old radiators (which would have had to be changed anyway), the Orangehouse team was able to carry out the work with minimal disruption to our daily routine and with very little mess, with the team always helpful and willing to work to fit in with our domestic schedule as far as possible. The heat pump has been mounted on the side of our house, well above head height, so it's out of the way, and it's also very quiet, contrary to some of the warnings I'd received. Internally the system is also much quieter than our old one, and the removal of the header tank, which had managed to leak due to a faulty ball-valve on at least three occasions in the last fifteen years is a big plus too. The installation didn't quite go without hitches. It turned out that even though our house had been completely rewired only ten years ago we needed to replace the electric consumer unit, and initially the new hot water system was overheating the water due to an incorrectly positioned sensor. But both these problems were sorted out by the Orangehouse team very quickly and the system has now been working perfectly for almost six months. I've waited until now to write a review because I wanted to see how the system would cope with cold weather, and I'm happy to report that all the warnings that we'd have lukewarm hot water and a cold house have proved to be completely groundless. It's certainly the case that we're using more electricity than before when the heating is needed, but after switching to the "Cosy Octopus" tariff and getting rid of our gas supply altogether, we're certainly not spending anything like as much on energy as we were last winter. Our new system is also much more flexible than our old one when it comes to scheduling, and it's easy to do things like boosting the temperature for a few hours or programme in absences if we're going on holiday. With the recent increase in the BUS grant, now is probably a very good time to consider upgrading to an ASHP, and I'd certainly recommend using Orangehouse Renewables if you're not too far away from them.

5From the quote stage to installation and now ongoing servicing/ maintenance we couldn't be happier with the serviced received from Orangehouse. They are incredibly knowledgeable and have an in depth understanding of their products and those that complement them (solar energy for example). 3 years on and we still can't fault the system they installed for us and still turn to them for advice on other eco measures!

Thank you so much Natalie for your five star review. Nothing makes us happier than happy customers ⭐️
