  I called CDS electrical last year as I had a flickering light fitting, the receptionist on the phone said someone would come out to “have a look” - NO mention of a call out charge or a quote, I assume they are coming to give me a quote. Two young men came round, the flickering had stopped by the time they got there but they spent maximum 15 minutes where one of them had a look and told me there was no issue, the other sat on my sofa and played with my dog, then they went on their way. Imagine my surprise when THREE months later, I receive an invoice for £160! With no breakdown of costs and saying they had carried out works. I obviously disputed this, they accepted that they shouldn’t have charged me for the second contractor present, reduced the amount but still attempting to charge me for no work done. They then proceeded to attempt to take me to court! Absolutely scandalous, and I truly believe it’s because I was a lone woman who they thought they could take advantage of and try to rip off. I have used numerous local contractors in the last year since moving house, and have never had such a negative experience or anyone be anything other than professional and honest, so it’s really a shame that a local business would behave like this.

When our engineers attended the property, they carried out a diagnostic inspection to assess the reported electrical fault. There was a fault and time was spent investigating the fitting and checking for potential underlying causes. As with many service visits, this type of diagnostic attendance is chargeable, and this is standard practice within the electrical industry. That said, we acknowledge that there was a misunderstanding regarding the attendance of two engineers, and as soon as this was raised, we amended the invoice accordingly to remove the additional charge. We made efforts to resolve the matter directly and fairly following your dispute. We strongly refute any suggestion that our actions were motivated by personal circumstances, and we take such implications very seriously. CDS Electrical is committed to treating all customers with respect and professionalism, and we have many long-standing clients who trust our services. As a gesture of goodwill, we worked towards an agreed settlement to resolve the matter. In light of this, we were disappointed to see this review, but we respect your right to share your experience.   Approach CDS Electrical regarding the installation of solar panels and battery. Corin carried out a thorough survey and provided us with several options. He was happy for me to view the products at his office, when I asked to see what the panels and fittings looked like. From accepting the quotation, within a few weeks the panels were fitted and up and running (just need some sunshine!). The installation team were very professional and friendly, as were all the admin staff in the office. Following switching energy supplier, Corin spent some time helping me navigate the AlphaSE App, which manages the solar panels and battery. Would recommend CDS Electrical for solar panel installation. The next step for us will be an EV charger, and will be getting CDS to instal, once we have decided which electric car to purchase.

  We needed a new roof as it had reached the end of its life CDS came and removed our panels which would be affected leaving the others connected so that we could still generate some power. They stored our panels for us keeping them safe. Once the roofing was complete CDS returned the panels making sure everything was working as it should. Brilliant company, brilliant people. Highly recommended

  My service supports people with a learning disability. James from CDS visited 4 flats and was execptional with the people living there. He was patient, re-assuring and really sought to help everyone feel safe. Brilliant customer service, recommend.

  Had Engineer Matt Harvey with us to repair Zappi EV Charger. Top fella. Called day before to confirm appointment details. Arrived on time. Spent time to assist rebooting the Eddi system and explain it all thoroughly. Nothing too much trouble. Will happily recommend and use again. Many thanks.

  From start to finish we cannot fault CDS. From the efficiency of Amy and the team in the office, Graham keeping a very perfectionist and knowledgeable eye on everything and Charlie, Harry & Alfie all electricians who were also very efficient and courteous. All members of staff were respectful to our home and us, were personable and we can't rate them and their work highly enough. We were kept informed every step of the way and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend CDS. We are delighted with our new solar panels and the savings we are making. Thank you all so much.

  From day one, Rob came around with no hard sell and told him what I wanted: storage heaters. He listened, said QM150RF for the lounge, it gives out more heat than you have at the moment, and the thermostat will keep it at that temperature, as you only have the front of the building is exposed to the outside. Plus if it could be a sup, temperature, you have an electric fire, but I do not think you will need it. For the bedroom side, a smaller one, a QM050RF. But I did a bit of measuring, and a QM070RF, but it fitted in the space cost a bit more, but I am glad I did, as it was about the width of the one that came out. I did have 2 other quotes, but both were a hard sell
